I went to the border for my TN Visa and the Immigration Officer told me to come back in 3 weeks on Oct 01 when my start date is. Can I not go earlier than my start date?
Answer:
Yes. Usually you can enter the US. 5-10 days before the job start date so you can arrive to the job on time and get settled into your apartment, etc. Most Immigration Officers are reasonable with this request. They however, will start your TN Visa on the date you enter so you may lose a few days.
